What to do with all those diet messages

We’re surrounded by so many conflicting messages all the time about how to become healthier, how to release weight, and how to improve your life. To say these messages have become confusing is an understatement. They’ve got us jumping from one extreme diet or lifestyle change to the next- wreaking havoc on our body and endocrine system, and keeping us feeling lost and unsure of what to commit to.

Here’s the part we don’t often talk about – you are the true holder of your wisdom. We need to ask “What do I know to be true for myself that works for me?” We’re so used to getting messages from influencers, friends, and experts that we often forget to check-in. After all, you are the expert on yourself!

And of course, there are times when we need guidance and support – that goes without saying. But when you know in your gut and in your heart that something is harmful or not working, trust your gut. You know more than you think, and a humble appreciation for your own wisdom is essential in finding your long-term solution.

In the spirit of checking in with yourself, describe 3 things that you know to be true for you. That could sound like “Every time I eat ice cream, I end up binging” or it could sound like “when I skip breakfast, I’m likely to overeat at night.” Reflecting on what you know to be true for you right now, rather than reinventing the wheel, will be a total game-changer in your relationship with food.

And as always, know that Team MC and the Beacon are here to help. We’re here rooting you on always.

Xoxo,

Team Molly
